Application and Eligibility
Program Overview
This grant program provides a one-time payment of $10,000 to individuals and families who lost their primary residence in the August 2026 Spokane Complex Fires (including the Old Trails, Autumn Lane, and Fairview Fires and any officially recognized fire within the same disaster declaration). The grant is intended as direct, unrestricted relief to help affected households cover immediate needs — temporary housing, replacement of essentials, and recovery costs — while insurance, FEMA, and other assistance are processed.
Grants are awarded regardless of homeownership status; both homeowners and renters whose primary residence was destroyed may apply, subject to the eligibility criteria below.
Am I eligible for a grant?
You are eligible to apply for a grant if you can answer YES to ALL of the following:
My primary residence was affected. I/we occupied the affected property as my/our primary residence at the time of the fire (not a vacation home, rental property you own but did not live in, or vacant unit).
My residence was destroyed or rendered a total loss. My residence was destroyed or rendered a total loss by one of the qualifying 2026 Spokane Complex Fires, as confirmed by county damage assessment, fire district report, insurance total-loss determination, or FEMA inspection.
My residence is located in a qualifying location. My property is located within the declared Spokane Complex Fire burn areas (Autumn Lane, Old Trails, Fairview).
I can verify my identity. I/we can provide one of the following: government-issued photo identification, passport, permanent resident card, or consular ID card.
I can verify my residency. I/we can document that I/we lived at the address at the time of the Spokane Complex Fires.
I understand only one $10,000 grant is awarded per residence, regardless of the number of adult occupants.
Eligibility is based on loss of primary residence, not on income, immigration status, insurance coverage, or receipt of other aid.
